Why this matters now more than ever

The need for first-hand emotional support has never been more urgent. In England, around
1 in 5 children and young people aged 8–25 have a probable mental health disorder.
Among older youth (16–24), this rises to 1 in 4 living with a common mental health condition - a significant increase from a decade ago.
Demand on NHS services is extreme: in 2023/24, 78,577 young people waited for more than one year for CAMHS treatment, with 34,191 waiting over two years.
A staggering 910,567 were referred, yet 64% weren’t seen within four weeks, and 171,134 referrals were closed before any support was delivered.
As of September 2024, 352,682 children and young people were waiting for a first contact, many enduring waits of up to 798 days.
We believe in early intervention and prevention — offering a safe space, creative outlets, and compassionate support long before a crisis occurs.
